Eliezar works as a residential cleaner in Victoria, cleaning homes.
He has hearing loss, which has made his job difficult due to miscommunications that have occurred. As well, being unable to hear alarms or emergencies put Eliezar at risk of injury.
The Island Deaf and Hard Of Hearing Centre referred Eliezar to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for funding for a pair of hearing aids. He applied and was quickly approved.
“I am able to concentrate better with more and clear input [. . .] to be more effective in performing my tasks and duties,” he shares. “I feel new, alert, and safe when I’m wearing my hearing aids. I can listen and communicate properly with my hearing aids.”
“I have been [given] a 5-star rating [by] many clients and the company that I work for is very happy with me as they receive [lots of] positive feedback in regards to my work performance. Some clients have personally told me that I’m doing a stellar job. I am now in high demand.”
Eliezar says he “absolutely, 100%” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.
“I would like to make a BIG thanks to the people who helped me getting through what I need in,” he says. “You have helped me way above and beyond. Because of my hearing aids, I’m becoming a stellar employee. Thank you for your help and big support!”
