For many students, properly planning, organizing, and completing their homework is one of the bigger obstacles they’ll face in school. This is especially true for students who struggle with attention-based challenges such as ADHD or other executive functioning disorders. Of course, every student is typically given a paper agenda/calendar at the beginning of the school year, but what if the student struggles with print-based disabilities, or they simply lose or don’t use their paper agenda? As we’ll see from the app that we are going to be looking at today, there are many advantages to planning digitally, and these advantages extend to all users regardless of their learning ability.

myHomework is a cross-platform student-planner that syncs across iOS, Android, Mac, Chromebook, and Windows devices, so no matter what device you have at hand, you’ll have access to your planner, and no internet connection is required to use the app.

Users can easily navigate through Homework, Classes, Calendar, Teachers, Announcements, Themes, and Settings, and adding new homework items is very straightforward.

To add new homework, users select the + (plus) symbol in the top right corner and the app will prompt students for the required details such as Description, Class, Type, Due Date/Time, Repeats, Priority, Reminder, Attach a file, and More Info.

The calendar displays both homework and classes for the day, so it’s a great tool for quickly finding out what you need to focus on during any given day.

myHomework uses can also connect with their teachers via Teachers.io app, in which case due dates and class information are shared to the user and will appear in the learners’ calendar automatically.

This app has lots of built-in accessibility potential, as users can input text via speech (speech-to-text) rather than type/write information, and users can use built-in VoiceOver/text-to-speech technology to have their homework information read aloud. Plus, users can choose from a variety of free themes to find the visual style that works best for their specific needs.

myHomework Basic is available for free with ads, and myHomework Premium is available for $4.99 per year. The premium version offers more features includes app widgets, sharing and importing, file attachments, and more. To learn more about myHomework including pricing information, click here.
