Ronald is an insurance estimator. His work requires a lot of communication, both in-person and over the phone.

“[I have] hearing loss, which resulted in missing information (sometimes critical) during calls or in-person meetings, [and I’m] always having to ask people to repeat themselves which slowed the workflow,” he shares.

Being on a tight budget, his audiologist referred him to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for help getting the hearing aids he needs to do his job effectively.

“[Assistive Technology Services] guided me through the process of applying for assistance for my hearing loss and subsequently covered a portion of the hearing aids purchase. This was a great help,” he says.

The new hearing aids have made a big difference.

“My personal work conditions have improved,” he explains. “[There’s an] immense difference in my day to day communications on the phone or in person, rarely if ever do I have to ask people to repeat themselves now, [I’m] feeling more alert at my desk.”

Ronald says he “100%” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, having already referred a few people he knows.
