Lidia works as a host at a stadium, and her duties include ticket scanning, helping patrons find their seats, and resolving any issues they may have. She also has genetic hearing loss, which makes it difficult to hear patrons, as well as important safety and operational information during meetings.
Needing a new hearing aid for work, she learned about WorkBC Assistive Technology Services from her daughter and decided to apply. “The program helped me a lot,” she shares. “They helped me get my hearing aid which improved my ability to do my job.”
Lidia says that the new hearing aid has “very much so” improved her ability to do her job. “I am able to perform my duties in a much better fashion,” she says.
She recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need. “I am very happy with the service I received and that such a program exists for helping people like me,” she says.
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
