Thanks to new hearing aids she received with the help of funding from WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, Stephanie is excelling at her job teaching prenatal and parenting classes.

“They have made it possible for me to continue working in my field,” she says.

“My hearing loss was impairing my ability to teach effectively, as I could not hear questions, could not respond appropriately to clients, and could not facilitate group discussions. It was getting worse and worse to the point where I was pretty much unable to teach classes at all, but the hearing aids have allowed me to hear again.”

Stephanie says she “absolutely” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, noting that the service she received from staff made the process easy.

“My assigned support worker was exemplary — helpful, supportive, and informative. There is a lot of paperwork to submit within a short time frame, and he was instrumental in helping me accomplish it, by replying promptly and helpfully to my many questions,” she says.

“I also appreciated the online updates about which files had been received and which one were still expected, as this was very helpful to my progress.”
