Darren works as a transportation planner, writing reports for cities, analyzing data, and preparing conceptual drawings.

“I have a profound hearing impairment. It means that it is difficult for me to follow group conversations,” he shares.

His audiologist referred him to the WorkBC Assistive Technology Services program.

Through WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, he received new hearing aids and an FM system, which enhances his hearing aids.

Now able to hear even in “noisy areas,” Darren recommends Assistive Technology Services to others in need.

“It has dramatically improved my hearing and therefore my work performance,” he says.

WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
