New Hearing Aids Help Rai Feel “Secure and Confident” at Work

Rai works as a health care assistant, taking care of seniors and other patients who need help with their everyday needs. She has severe hearing loss and needed hearing aids. She learned about WorkBC Assistive Technology Services (ATS) from a co-worker and decided to apply.
“They helped me in funding, so I was able to buy the top-quality hearing aids. They guided me through every step and were very informative to me. I wouldn’t have been able to get the aids without their support,” she shares. “I would not have been able to continue my job without my hearing aids.”
Her new hearing aids have made all the difference at work.
“With my new aids, I am able to stay at my job. I can hear better, and I am able to answer the alarms and bells promptly, which is very important for residents safety, as many are at fall risk. I am able to hear better in our staff reports and meetings, as well as listen to residents concerns and needs and help them appropriately,” she says.
“I feel secure and confident at work. With this big help from ATS, I am able to perform my job duties very well.”
Rai says she “absolutely” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others, praising the service she received from staff.
“I am very grateful and thankful to the ATS program for their outstanding service and dedication.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
