WorkBC Assistive Technology Services Gives Coralee Confidence in the Job Search
With the help of WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, Coralee, who has hearing loss, got the hearing aids she needs to find a job and thrive in her future workplace.
“These new hearing aids are giving me more confidence to look for work,” she shares.
Coralee had been working with a career coach at her local WorkBC Centre to find employment when she was referred to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for funding for a new set of hearing aids. Now, with her new hearing aids, she finds it much easier to hear during her sessions at WorkBC and feels much more confident about her ability to work.
“Wherever I get a job, I have more confidence that I’ll be able to hear my boss’ instructions,” she explains. “Being able to hear instructions and to carry them out is a must for any job.”
Coralee credits WorkBC Assistive Technology Services staff with being “very kind, patient, and willing to help” throughout the process, and says that she has already recommended the program to others.
“Just a big thank you to all involved for [the] support and making a difference in peoples lives, mine for one.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
