New Hearing Aids Help Laura Communicate With Her Clients
Laura (name changed to protect privacy) has her own house cleaning business. She has hearing loss and tinnitus, and this can make communicating with her clients difficult, particularly when they are soft-spoken. “I have troubles hearing precisely what they are talking about,” she shares.
Her hearing clinic referred her to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services for help funding the hearing the hearing aids she needs for work.
She particularly appreciated that WorkBC Assistive Technology Services staff were “so helpful and understanding” while guiding her through every step of the process, ensuring she got her much-needed hearing aids.
Having already noticed a big difference on the job and interacting with her clients, Laura recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need. “Since I’ve been wearing my hearing aids, I can hear myself more clearly. And I had a few clients that already noticed that I’m not as loud, or not misunderstanding in conversation.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
