New Hearing Aids Help Susan Participate in Job Interviews
Susan is looking for employment as a career development practitioner. She has hearing loss.
“Hearing loss impacts my ability to clearly hear the spoken word. This is a drawback in interviews, as well as a liability on the job,” she shares.
Through WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, she received funding for hearing aids with Bluetooth connectivity. She now feels much more confident in the job search process.
“The accommodations greatly improved my ability to hear the spoken word and enhanced my performance in interviews, both in-person and online,” she explains. “I am sure the devices will make a difference in my work with clients.”
Susan recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need.
“The program is a huge boon to anyone who has experienced a disability such as mine,” she says. “I would like to thank the staff [at] WorkBC Assistive Technology Services [. . .] for their excellent service and understanding of client needs.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
