Sara’s New Hearing Aids Help Her on the Job
Sara works as a printing and production clerk in the Lower Mainland. She was born deaf, and has worn hearing aids since she was a child. Through WorkBC Assistive Technology Services, she received funding for a new set of hearing aids that she needs on the job.
“Fortunately, [the new] hearing aids now help me a lot, allowing me to talk to people and greatly assisting me at work,” she shares. “It’s definitely much better than before. I can hear clearly and it’s more convenient for me to work.”
Sara says she recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to others in need, saying that she couldn’t work without the new hearing aids she received through the program.
“[They allow me] to perform the essential functions of that job and enjoy equal employment opportunities.”
WorkBC Assistive Technology Services is operated by Neil Squire. Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a functional limitation. This may include barriers related to traveling to and from the workplace.
