WorkBC Assistive Technology Services Helps Liam Train for a New Career

Liam is currently obtaining work experience and looking for employment in the communications sector, while undergoing career training. He was motivated to switch careers because of an injury.
“I have a severe neck injury which makes getting to and from places very difficult, I am re-training so that I can find work from home or hybrid positions,” he shares.
He was referred to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to get the accommodations he needed in his training and future employment.
“I received a height adjustable desk, a properly-sized, supportive, ergonomic office chair, and a large monitor. These items have made my training so much easier and my goal of working from home so much more feasible,” he says. “They also directed me towards various apps that have eased my difficulties with accessibility.”
Liam says the accommodations have “changed my life,” and “very much so” recommends WorkBC Assistive Technology Services as he continues his training and looks for employment.
“I did four months of training before their help and then four months of training afterwards, and the difference was like night and day,” he explains.
“I can spend so much more time working effectively and no longer get sore from sitting at the computer for an extended period.”
